Day 2, or final now, Dawn likes it better now and thinks it is finished, Helamen thinks it is reminded him of a Chinese doorpost greeting or welcome sign.
This is the first day of painting, has 3 layers, background, glowing orangy colour, and laying down some patterns might be useful. Decided to have something hidden in the centre.
In the past, after "beguiled", I was stymied about the middle of the painting, what to have there, now I hope this works!
yiphee, Dawn received her sketchbook today, and the world tour will be coming to Melbourne for the First time, out of the States.
Dawn is excited to fill it up with drawings depicting her theme of "Hope".
Started out on a new painting on a primed canvas (1220x1524mm) in the colours that I liked which I used before in "Prancing in Paris". I feel these colours goes well with each other and I layered them in blocks and worked in the lines until they got somewhere.
Day 1
Just caught up with Andrea and Tas's show at Red Brick Gallery, the wonderful sculptures of Tas's compliment the beautiful abstracts of Andrea's paintings. And we met the two artists at the show today.
This afternoon we visited the Bellarine artists community at Portalington. They meet at a gallery/studio space and have a lazy Sunday afternoon, drinking wine, talking and appraising art and listening to live music. Vim and Ash invited us to join in. It was very nice to meet new people and network.
